Scouts Activities

Our Scout Troop gets up to all sorts of activities all over the place.

The highlight of the year is Summer Camp where we cram more activities into a week than you can imagine. In that week we get to do a selection of climbing, abseiling, gorge walking, caving, coasteering, cycling, hiking, swimming, visiting local towns, camp cooking, bivouaking and much more.

During the summer you can see us on the water in the Bay; rowing, sailing, canoeing, kayaking, power boating and having barbecues on the beach.

In the winter we focus on Scouting skills and preparing for the summer season on the water. We do all the usual scouting things like knotting and pioneering but with a nautical twist. We also try to visit some of the local organisations in the Bay like the Torbay Lifeboat Station and Paignton Firestation.

Back to Basic Camps at Watcombe Scout Campsite are always a favourite with our Troop where the Scouts come along to do groundwork at the site for their Community Challenge Badge and then cook their dinner on open fires.

We enjoy night hike somewhere in and around Torbay, so if you come across a group of scouts one Thursday night in the woods while walking your dog it could be us.

Winter Camp at the home of Scouting in Gilwell Park, Essex is a weekend adventure, where Scouts get to camp in the middle of January and take part in all sorts of activities.
